Color fear

Each fall I get half-nervous that this fall will have less brilliant color, due to some half-baked idea involving rainfall and photosynthesis. To date, my fears have always proven unfounded, and I'm never fully prepared for the rampage of color. Our woods are full of Sugar Maple, Tulip Poplar, Oaks, Hickory, Walnut, Beech, and Sassafras, all which put on a show, and the under-story layer of Spice Bushes glow yellow for weeks, while the wild blueberries glow red. I pack away all the color to last me through winter.
